Liebherr: go-live for maritime cranes and mobile and crawler cranes

With the maritime cranes and the mobile and crawler cranes, two product divisions from the B2B area of the Liebherr group of companies were integrated for the first time into the umbrella brand portal liebherr.com, launched in 2014.
Whether deployed in high-alpine terrain or for cargo handling on the high seas: Liebherr cranes stand worldwide for absolute reliability and top performance. From now on, the maritime cranes and mobile and crawler cranes divisions present their products and services in a contemporary new look – including interactive stages and innovative storytelling formats.
Content staging with new formats
As digital lead agency, we worked together with the editorial teams to develop the information architecture for the new sites. We expanded the existing content with customer-relevant application reports and brand-effective image topics – from heavy-load handling at Niagara Falls to the suspended crane assembly at Cologne Cathedral.
Together with the Liebherr editorial teams, we implemented innovative storytelling formats that stage the respective products as stars. Alongside the customer target group, these formats also appeal to the large community of Liebherr fans. For example, an interactive themed stage in magazine style offers exciting reports on Liebherr cranes' deployments worldwide.
New modules and product integration
To stage content, we developed a series of new modules in the FirstSpirit CMS. Editors can now maintain interactive stages simply and intuitively directly within the content management system.
The biggest technical challenge of the project was connecting and dynamically displaying products on product listing and product detail pages. Product information is imported from central databases via an interface and made available in a structured way through the web frontend. This allows customers to access technical details on the entire product range via practically filterable product lists. All content is available worldwide in five languages.
