Welches System ist die beste Lösung, wenn man als führendes Logistikunternehmen seine Online-Bestellplattform zum Vertrieb von Merchandise-Artikeln und Mitarbeiterkleidung erneuern möchte? Unser Kunde DHL musste sich vor längerer Zeit dieser Herausforderung stellen, da das alte System veralteten Anforderungen entsprach. Zur zukünftigen Ausrichtung dieses Geschäftsbereiches konnte die implementierte Lösung nicht mehr verwendet werden, da die Bedienung des Systems auf Dauer zu komplex war.

Im Rahmen einer ausführlichen Marktsichtung für ein Neusystem wurden wir daher aufgrund der hohen Expertise mit verschiedenen Softwarelösungen für den Logistikbereich beauftragt, bei der Implementierung der neuen Software zu unterstützen. Darüber hinaus wurden wir verpflichtet, sowohl im Betrieb der neuen Plattform und im Application Management als auch bei der weiteren Implementierung der gesamten Multisite zu unterstützen. Dazu zählte auch die Öffnung der Plattform für eigene Kunden von DHL.

DHL Trading Solutions and synaigy - a long-standing partnership

In 2015, DHL selected synaigy as its partner to provide operational support throughout the platform’s update phase. As part of this effort, synaigy implemented a “one-stop-shop” solution - the synaigy Commerce Cloud, a sustainable, flexible, and highly scalable e-commerce platform.

Technical implementation: HCL Commerce 9 on Kubernetes

This is a modern SaaS solution with cloud hosting. Synaigy handled the entire system migration. Incidentally, DHL’s stringent security requirements posed a particular challenge during this phase, but these were successfully met with the implementation of the synaigy Commerce Cloud. With the migration of the HCL Commerce base system to version HCL Commerce 9, the platform has now been upgraded to a new Kubernetes level. In addition, drawing on our many years of HCL experience, we remain responsible for the operation and maintenance of the platform. This ensures SLA-compliant operation, as our support team can handle necessary requests directly.

The implemented solution now enables a particularly strong backend integration with the group’s SAP system to support the smooth operation of the logistics business. Also particularly noteworthy is the simplified contract structure that resulted for DHL from the implementation of the synaigy Commerce Cloud. This provided DHL with a flexible and streamlined bundling of licenses and software.
