The digital lunch break

The social factor of everyday office life: coffee in the kitchen, table football in the lounge. Many employees certainly have the coffee machine at home, but not the table football table. And so the important togetherness is missing in complicated times like these. But there are ways to make up for the missing closeness. synaigy has introduced a digital social room for this purpose. At lunchtime, employees from different locations and departments dial into a digital room, turn on their microphone and camera on their laptop, and take a break together. This way, conversations that would otherwise have taken place in the kitchen or canteen can continue digitally.

The team atmosphere

Apart from the lunch break, where colleagues sit together across departments, it is a particular challenge to hold the various project teams together. Coordination does not happen face to face but by video conference. But what would a team be without its own anecdotes from projects? These can no longer be exchanged across the table. But there are solutions here too. A virtual team that exchanges news from projects via its own channel. Depending on the tool used, these channels are particularly quick and simple to set up and, above all, reachable from anywhere.

The right equipment

At synaigy we prepared for longer periods of home office long-term and independent of a crisis like now. Our employees are fully equipped and work from home with their laptop. For everything that wasn't yet digital, we look for solutions and implement them. Not just for ourselves, of course. We've also enabled our customers to maintain communication with us via digital channels and exchange documents digitally.

The paperless office

While everyday office life in numerous companies is still very paper-heavy, quite different measures need to be taken in the current phase. The notes on the printed presentation you hand to a colleague are obsolete. Using comment functions, notes can be simply digitised and edited and shared jointly via a collaboration tool such as Sharepoint. If needed, you can even make changes to the documents directly yourself. So it's not just paper and printer ink that's saved. Efficiency in processing documents rises massively. And that's not all: you're also doing something for the environment, because as the saying goes: 'Before printing, think about environmental responsibility.'

The matter of the environment

Emissions have dropped like never before. What does the environment more than good, harms the economy, no question. Yet it becomes clear that not every trip to the office is necessary. Traffic reports on the radio become rare. That pleases commuters who would otherwise sit in traffic on the A40 every morning. And the time otherwise spent commuting to the office can now be used meaningfully for family before and after work.
