Several European authorities have recently ruled against the use of Google Analytics. The result: the popular analytics tool could soon be unambiguously banned (see iBusiness: Decision – things are getting tight for Google Analytics ). But that's not all: at their core, the decisions triggered by data protection activist Max Schrems concern far more than just Google Analytics. Almost the entire cloud infrastructure exchanging data with the US is under scrutiny – whether it's an e-commerce, marketing or analytics tool. In other words, nearly all modern applications.
