To the perfect racquet with AI algorithms
HEAD Sport GmbH is a leading global manufacturer and marketer of high-quality sports equipment and apparel. The idea for a Racquet Finder - designed to help customers choose the racket that’s best for them - was conceived in the Innovation Management department of the Racquet Sports Division. The Finder was intended to go beyond a recommendation engine based solely on clicks or rules.
The system should be able to learn to interpret both structured and unstructured data as well as quantitative and qualitative information, and thereby deliver the "best-fitting" recommendation. It should also be easy and intuitive for the customer to use. AI services and
algorithms help analyse, classify and standardise data from different sources and formats, ultimately processing it using machine learning algorithms.
Our services

The solution
With every input, the algorithms used learn to reassess the data and the relationships within it, and thus respond to changes in users' needs. Users reach their results through a very streamlined interactive questionnaire of 6 questions. These formed the basis of the racquet usage profile on which the learning system could build to give optimised recommendations.
The technology
The project was implemented on the IBM Cloud using various cloud and Watson services. At the heart of the Smart Learning Racquet Finder is a network of neural networks that, through a multi-stage process, analyze the various input data and map racquet profiles to usage profiles.
