IBB corporate website
Driving Berlin’s development through a digital platform
The Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB) serves as the State of Berlin’s central institution for business development, employment programs, as well as real estate and urban development initiatives. As IBB’s digital lead agency, interactive tools planned and delivered the relaunch of its new corporate website, overseeing every aspect of the project, from strategy and usability to design, content, and technical implementation.
The result is a consistently user-centered digital experience that enables the bank’s diverse target audiences to quickly and efficiently navigate its complex portfolio of funding and support programs, access the information they need, and complete applications online.

Shift from an internal to an external perspective
While the old website followed IBB's internal organisational structure throughout, the new web presence now opens up outward and meets users' individual needs right from the homepage. With this entry concept, IBB's communication is consistently aligned with the information needs of its target groups – from first contact through the entire customer journey.

Completely reimagined user guidance
Whether goal-oriented users searching for a specific offer or exploratory visitors wanting an overview: the new information architecture makes IBB's wide-ranging services visible, provides an overview, supports orientation and quickly leads to the desired goal. To achieve this, the existing content was optimised, reduced and restructured from a target-group perspective.
A clear menu, completely redesigned and focused on content relevant to users, comes in the form of a clear burger menu and a top navigation for larger screens. Quicklinks additionally provide fast access to current and relevant content.

Precise filtering and direct access
At the heart of the optimised website is a modern two-stage filter function that bundles and dynamically presents IBB's diverse funding programmes. Particular emphasis is placed on user-friendly design that addresses users based on their specific plans. Additional, specific filter options let users quickly and easily find the funding programme that fits their needs.

User-oriented from the outset
To understand precisely which usage needs the new website must serve, we surveyed IBB's diverse target groups early in the project. In a quantitative user survey, we determined whether the new filter function concept helps users find the information they're looking for. A further qualitative survey used a prototype to clarify what matters to users during research, whether and how they reach content, and how they make decisions.
With its new website, IBB underlines its important role as a customer-oriented, digital development bank for the state of Berlin, which contributes significantly to the city's economic development.
