Bereits im Jahr 2000 war Intergastro.de einer der ersten Online-Shops für Gastronomieartikel. Eine eigenentwickelte E-Commerce-Lösung bildete die Grundlage für die ersten Onlineverkäufe. Obwohl dieses System gute Dienste leistete, wurde die Wartung zunehmend aufwendiger und somit auch zu kostenintensiv. Zudem belasteten lange Ladezeiten des Online-Shops das Kauferlebnis. Eine flexible Weiterentwicklung des Geschäftsmodells konnte mit Hilfe der damals betriebenen Lösung nicht zukunftssicher erfolgen. Aus diesen Gründen galt es, einen Plattformwechsel zu einer zukunftssicheren, leistungsstarken und flexiblen E-Commerce-Lösung durchzuführen.

When selecting the platform, Intergastro opted for a standard e-commerce system that can be adapted well to changing (customer) requirements and came with numerous out-of-the-box features. The system had to be flexible and future-proof in order to put the “new” business model on a healthy footing from the outset.
In several workshops, demos and platform test drives of various e-commerce systems were used to work out together which e-commerce solution could solve Intergastro's challenges quickly, effectively and sustainably. The choice fell on Intershop Commerce Management, because this all-in-one system comes with extensive standard functionality. It is also a powerful solution that allows online sales channels to be optimised and scaled flexibly and in a future-proof way. The personalisation options, the powerful analytics tools and multi-channel selling have become indispensable.
After the evaluation phase for the new system, the replatforming to Intershop was implemented. It quickly became clear that transparent communication between everyone involved in the project is decisive for success. In addition to extensions in the area of searchandising, the replatforming project also included Google Analytics measures. Added to this were interface adjustments between the ERP system and the online shop for delivering catalogue, customer and order data appropriately, as well as user experience and design adjustments. The project went live at the beginning of 2019. Step by step, further optimisations were made to the system in order to fully meet the individual requirements and wishes of Intergastro's customers. Since then, we have been supporting the online shop continuously.
